Located in the north-east region of Africa, this arid historic site was built around 2500 BCE and is made mostly out of limestone and 8,000 tonnes of granite. This site is an ancient wonder of the world and was built not by slaves but by skilled laborers who were organized into gangs like the "Friends of Khufu." You might know it by the name Akhet Khufu and for over 3,800 years, this landmark was the tallest man-made structure on Earth until a cathedral in England finally surpassed it.
