To start our hunt we are going to a prominent city on the Mississippi River that has the sixth largest port in the United States. This city is known for its French roots but it was also controlled by the Spanish from 1763 and 1803. Its position on the Mississippi river made it a key location in many wars and a famous battle here was a decisive victory for the Americans over the British in the war of 1812.
This city is famous for its cuisine, which incorporates lots of seafood and spices. Popular dishes here are po-boys, gumbo, and jambalaya. The city is also known for its lively music and is considered the birthplace of jazz. Music is very prominent in the city's annual, mardi gras paradise where many local high school bands march.
Now that you have found the city, you are looking for a museum located south of the famous french quarter. The museum is in a district that is home to the first restaurant of one of the city’s most famous chefs Emeril Lagasse. This district was founded in the early 19th century and its large buildings were used to store cotton and sugar prior to shipping on the Mississippi. The area is also home to the city’s convention center and the kern studios mardi gras world.
The museum’s aviation gallery, which is named after president George H.W. Bush, features six fully restored military aircraft. The museum was originally opened has the National D-Day Museum, but was later expanded with congressional action. The museum's exhibits include the road to tokyo and the pacific theater gallery, the road to berlin and the european theater gallery, and the D-Day invasion of Normandy.
