This major oceanic city sits along the Tasman Sea and was developed around one of the world’s largest natural harbors. It experiences a humid subtropical climate. Among its landmarks is a sail-like performing arts venue recognized globally and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Nearby stands a massive steel arch bridge that becomes the focal point of large-scale New Year’s Eve celebrations. When you're there for the celebration, you have to stop at the largest fish market in the Southern Hemisphere, great for oysters and sashimi.
